Built in April 2010 for us by local licensed apiarist Rick Huismann, our Bee Village produced its first honey harvest in September of that same year. Since then, the honey has been available for sale and used extensively in Restaurant Ninety One.
Windermere Manor Bee Village consists of 28 hives. Each hive serves as home to one queen bee and approximately 70,000 worker bees. The bees dine on our local diverse selection of plants and flowers so the honey they produce has a flavour that is truly unique to Windermere Manor.
Windermere Manor Honey is simply delicious and so is the honey stung ale!"
